  • Marines are trained to love to suffer. Steven leveraged this to becoming a writer, Entrepreneur, and being in the arts.
  • Marines take tremendous pride in suffering more than any other branch of the service.
  • Frank Sinatra didn’t move pianos. He had a Team that came ahead of him. That’s why people want to get to the top so they can just do what they do.
  •  Your job really is to find out the one thing that you do well and then delegate everything else.
  • It’s all about Unique Ability.
  • Dan utilizes 9 Team Members to create outlines and coordinate interviews in order to have his books written.
  • Steven recommends reading What’s In It For Them
  • “It takes you completely out of your own self.” You have to keep asking yourself… “Is the person following me? Am I boring them? Is this a bunch of BS or are people paying attention to this thing because we’re adjusting their needs.”
  •  Everybody wants something. When you want something from somebody does your give equal your want?
  • When people approach you and they want something, but they’re not showing up with anything to give.. It gives a visceral reaction.
  • Money earned ethically is a byproduct of value creation.
  • You can help other people get a lot of what they want and they can abuse the hell out of you.
  • If you give of yourself and give value to people that you’re aligned with… people that appreciate it, and people that are reciprocal, you don’t have to show up with an agenda.
  •  Genuinely showing up and thinking about others, not about yourself, like… “How can I be useful to them? How can I reduce suffering? How can I be beneficial? That’s one of the best ways to develop not only great business relationships, but great personal relationships and genuine friendships.
  • Morality has to do a lot with mindset. The values that you have, but ethics are really about your behavior. Ethics are your morality in action.
  • Ethics is a function of your time perspective.
  • You don’t want to be doing something today that costs you 10 years from now.
  • As it relates to ethics, think of what’s good for someone and would you sell it to your best friend?
  • Human progress oftentimes takes enormous effort and in many cases sacrifice.
  • When you are connecting with someone, you care about them, you’re operating from a good place.
  • There’s a difference between situational behavior and situational ethics.
  • ‘We judge others by their actions. We judge ourselves by our intentions’
  • What’s the byproduct of what your life is about and where it leaves people? Does it leave the world and people around you in a better place or does it cause destruction?
