Everybody is born with a special activity or area of life that they find fascinating and motivating.
Generally, the world doesn’t really respect the idea of Unique Ability.
The world doesn’t owe you recognition of your Unique Ability. You are responsible for developing your uniqueness.
You have to figure out how to combine what your Unique Ability is inside, with a value proposition that you can share with other people.
Technology is a way of bringing your Unique Ability out and turning it into a capability.
Most people require things outside of themselves to be happy.
We’re taught to get what we need, but needs are pretty low level. Your truth is in what you want.
Uniqueness comes from the decision that your life is about what you want, and you don’t have to justify what you want.
A lot of people feel guilty for wanting what they want.
Uniqueness often shows up as obsession.
We pick up our own internal resistance from other people’s external resistance.
If you’re going to be unique, you can’t ask for permission. You have to earn your uniqueness.
Thinking about your own experience is the basis for the best education in the world.
The marketplace is the ultimate realm of reality, you are worth what other people are willing to pay.
You have to commit and have courage before you can create capability, and that will ultimately lead to the confidence to commit once again.
Michael Jordan was one of the most underpaid basketball players in the world at the height of his popularity, when measured against the value he created for everyone around him.
There is room for everybody’s Unique Ability. If someone has a Unique Ability, you don’t lose anything by sharing it with other people.
When people get caught up in their impact, they lose their originality.
