Some entrepreneurs have tremendous opportunity and capabilities but can’t get their act together because they approach work incorrectly.
All work projects in the world go from leadership to management.
To get anything done in a entrepreneurial company there are three things that are essential: someone has to make up the project or the idea, the project manager makes it real, and then team members make it something that can recur.
All multiplier growth in the world requires three things: make it up, make it real, make it recur.
The first 80% of work is just making it up. The vast majority of people are waiting for someone else to make something new.
Take the remaining 20% and do an 80/20 divide again, that’s where the project manager resides. Then you do one more 80/20 divide for the recurring third step.
There is no money in making one microchip, but there is a lot of money in taking one great microchip and making a million of them.
As the entrepreneur, your role is confined to making it up and providing superbly clear directions so the project manager can take control and the team can make it recur.
No matter how good you think the first try at something is, it’s only 80% as good as it could be. If you can get it to that point, you can give it to someone else to take it further.
How many great projects never get off the ground because of people’s prison of procrastination and perfectionism?
Make a list of all the things that you are not moving forward because you are procrastinating on them.
There are two places where the explosive connection nature of the universe doesn’t apply: government and academia.
